What is an agent?
An agent is a user who lists large rental cottages on big-group-cottages.co.uk.
If you're an agent you can create your own account and you can administrate your own properties.
Our basic package is free and gives you the following features:
- List one big group property Free
- Add up to 8 images to your listing Free
- Add a slideshow to your listing Free
- Add a map link to your listing Free
You can also buy a number of extras to improve the service you offer - see our Agent Price Options for more details.
You should also look at this page if you have more than one property to list.
Why become an agent if you're already listed elsewhere?
- Our service gives you your own web page
- It adds extra flexibility ... if you've got a special promotion on at Easter/Christmas/New Year ... or you've just put something new in your property, you normally have to wait until the next brochure to come out to tell everybody about it
- You can update when you want, not when the brochure goes to press
- You can add your URL from this site to your Hoseasons/Blakes/cottages4u listing next year as an additional way of attracting customers
- View this as an extra or add-on for your business ... you shouldn't change your existing marketing arrangements
- It's free for basic listings and will remain free!

How do I become an agent?
First of all, register via the Agent Signup page ... fill in the form as shown below, and make sure you complete all the fields marked by a *.

Click the Submit button once one you've completed the online form.
Once you've done this you'll see the following confirmation message ...

I'll activate your account as soon as possible.
The reason we use account activation is to stop spammers and time-wasters ... it makes life easier for everybody in the long run!
Once you've received an email saying that your account is activated you need to login.
Now go to the login page using your username and password as in the image below.
Note that if you forget your password, you can use the lookup function to have it emailed to you but you must use the original email account that you registered with.

You'll notice that when you login this time the menu on the left hand side of the page changes slightly to show a couple of extra options as in the image below.
This is extra functionality for your agent account and allows you to update your profile, make a new property listing (which is described on a separate page) and save your favourites.
As an agent, particularly note the Agent Admin Area link in this menu ... it takes you to the area when you create and edit your listings (more on that later!)

If you wish to change your personal profile in any way, click on Agent Edit Profile and you'll be taken to the page below:

From now on when you want to make or change listings, you'll need to do so via the administrator login screen which will give you the options below.
These are covered in full detail in the How to make an agent listing section.
